What do you think of when I say, "technology." You probably think of smartphones, computers, robots, and the 21st century. What if I told you that technology existed at the time of the first men on earth. You either agree with me or think that I am mad. Hear me out. It all comes down to what you really think technology. According to Merriam-Webster's dictionary definition, technology is "the practical application of knowledge especially in a particular area." This means that even cavemen had at least some degree of knowledge. They had to in order to discover fire. Notice I did not say "invent" fire because that, in fact, is not true. A similar example of this is how George Washington Carver discovered the peanut, which is not true. There were hundreds of farmers and inventors who farmed peanuts. what he was famous for was all of the ways one can use peanuts, like peanut butter, sausage, mayonnaise, and coffee. This is the truth that many do not know.
However, back to the point, how did the first people on Earth use technology? Not only did they discover fire, but they also discovered they they could use rocks, spears, axes, etc. to their advantage. the three main uses of all of these materials were for hunting, shelter, and food/water. These are the main necessities in the wild and all started with a small amout of brainpower. Rocks and fire may not seem like big advancements in technology but they were 2,000 ears ago.
